Third Sunday of Easter Year A

Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for the message of new life you bring to our world.
Help us to see you in our daily lives— in your beautiful creation, in the people we encounter, and in the actions of love and care which we witness.

As we pray for the world, we hold before you the many voices and stories that shape our understanding, especially those we may not often hear. We remember especially the many peoples of the Middle East, the traditions of faith grown from common soil, and the Christian communities of that land—keepers of an ancient faith in the place of its birth—sustaining hope amid fear and uncertainty.

Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We pray for an end to all the areas of conflict in our world and for all who dwell in places where there are violence and political turmoil.  We remember before you the leaders of countries and religions during this time of tension and controversy in the world. Guide them with wisdom and respect across divides of difference, so that trust may grow and peace take root.  Give them ears to hear the voices of those often overlooked, and courage to seek peace shaped by justice and dignity for all.

Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We pray, Lord, for your Church in all parts of our world.  We give thanks for those providing humanitarian services in countries where there is conflict and for those who continue to offer healing in the midst of conflict. We give thanks for the ministries of the Anglican Church in Gaza, and all who serve in hospitals and places of refuge.  Lord, be with them in their work and help them to provide comfort and healing and hope to those in need.

Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We give thanks for organisations serving our local communities—caring for those in advanced age, providing education to children, and supporting challenged members of society.  May your Holy Spirit guide us all in our endeavours to bring your message of love and hope to people across our country.

Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We give thanks for the leaders in this parish—for clergy, wardens, and parish council.
Strengthen us as a community of prayer and care for our neighbours.  We pray for all those who are in sorrow, need, sickness, or any other trouble, and for all who are on our hearts including: We pray for all who are on our hearts including….

Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
